Fremont students selected as outstanding musicians

Fremont Middle School Band Director Brent Burger selected eighth-graders Louis Bourque and Kaitlin Lambert to receive the school’s Outstanding Music Achievement Award for 2012. Eighth-graders Jake Landry and Jaryd Pacis received the Outstanding Jazz Musician Award for 2012.
What people may not know about the Fremont band program:
Ÿ Five-hundred students participate in band, grades 4-8
Ÿ One-hundred students perform in jazz bands, grades 5-8
Ÿ Seventh-grade band received a Division I rating at the district contest, which consists of players from three counties
Ÿ Seventh-grade band received a Division II rating at state
Ÿ Eighth-grade band received a Division I rating at the district contest
Ÿ Eighth-grade band received a Division II rating at state
Ÿ Sixth-grade jazz band received a Division I rating at the district level
