Teens charged in $30,000 theft from Lindenhurst school

Two 17-year-olds and a juvenile have been charged in connection to the theft of $30,000 worth of electronics from a Lindenhurst middle school.

A third 17-year-old, William C. Robb, who has a last known address of Waukegan, is wanted on a $500,000 warrant for his involvement in the burglary ring, according to police.

Shaun J. Beutlich, 17, of Northgate Road in Lindenhurst and Christopher R. Dziedzic, 17, of Waterford Drive in Lindenhurst were both charged with three counts of burglary and one count of theft over $10,000, according to Lindenhurst police.

The staff at Millburn West Middle School, 640 Freedom Way in Lindenhurst, contacted police after the school was burglarized on three separate dates. The teens are accused of entering the school Jan. 11, March 25 and June 19.

Police said they stole computers and electronic equipment and that some of the property has since been recovered.

Police became aware of the suspects within the past week and arrested Beutlich and Dziedzic. Authorities are asking anyone with knowledge of Robb’s whereabouts to call the Lindenhurst Police Department at (847) 356-5400.

Police said the juvenile who was issued a referral was from Lindenhurst, but they did not release his age.

Lake Villa police and Lake County sheriff’s deputies assisted the Lindenhurst department in the investigation and arrests.
