Elgin man charged with child pornography

A 57-year-old Elgin man was arrested Thursday on child pornography charges.

Wigberto Rivera, of the 3000 block of Chalkstone Avenue, was charged with six counts of aggravated child pornography.

Police had been investigating Rivera since September 2011 and found more than 200 images of child pornography on one of Rivera’s computers.

Rivera’s bail amount and next court date were not immediately available.
