Legacy Girls to perform in Barrington with salute to the Andrews Sisters
Kick off your Fourth of July celebrations with a musical journey back to the ‘30s and ‘40s.
Join the Barrington Area Council on Aging and The Garlands of Barrington for a performance by Legacy Girls, as they boogie-woogie their way through the hits made famous by the Andrews Sisters. The group will perform 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 3, in the Performing Arts Center at The Garlands of Barrington, 1000 Garlands Lane, Barrington.
Legacy Girls capture the essence of the Andrews Sisters with tight three-part harmonies and synchronized dance moves. They’ll perform the great songs that uplifted and unified the nation during the trying times of World War II — hits such as “Don’t Sit Under the Apple Tree,” “Chattanooga Choo Choo,” and of course, “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy.” All-American apple pie and coffee will be served as well.
Tickets are $15. Reservation deadline is Tuesday, June 26. Call Linda Avellon at the BACOA, at (847) 852-3892 for reservations.
