TV: Channel 9 today and Sunday; Comcast SportsNet Friday and Saturday

Radio: WSCR 670-AM

Pitching matchups: The Sox’ Dylan Axelrod (0-1) vs. Ivan Nova (9-2) today at 6:05 p.m.; Jose Quintana (2-1) vs. Adam Warren (0-0) Friday at 6:05 p.m.; Jake Peavy (6-4) vs. Hideki Kuroda (7-7) Saturday at 12:05 p.m.; Gavin Floyd (6-7) vs. Phil Hughes (8-6) Sunday at 1:05 p.m.

At a glance: After winning two of three from the Twins at Minnesota, the White Sox take a head of steam into their lone trip to New York this season. The Sox have had trouble against the Yankees in recent seasons and were 2-6 vs. N.Y. last year. The White Sox recorded a season-high 21 hits vs. the Twins on Wednesday. Alex Rios has been on fire, and he’s batting .341 with 9 home runs and 25 RBI in his last 32 games. Adam Dunn’s home run against Minnesota in the fifth inning snapped an 0-for-24 slump. Kevin Youkilis was 3-for-4 Wednesday and he’s gone 5-for-12 with 1 RBI since joining the White Sox on Monday in a trade from the Red Sox. The Yankees have won 25 of their last 32, but they got two doses of bad news Wednesday while sweeping a three-game series from the Indians. CC Sabathia went on the disabled list with strained leg muscle. Warren fills in for the big left-hander Friday. Andy Pettitte was hit by a line drive during Wednesday’s start and fractured a bone near his left ankle. He could be out until September.

Next: Texas Rangers, Tuesday-Thursday at U.S. Cellular Field
