Valet parking approved in Libertyville:

Valet parking for some downtown restaurants was approved Tuesday by the Libertyville village board. Operators of the 545 North, Chili U, Firkin and the Tavern restaurants at 545, 547, 515 and 519 N. Milwaukee Ave. had asked for the service, with cars to be parked in the village’s west downtown lots. The service, which could begin as early as this weekend, initially will be offered from 4:30 to 10:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Conditions include a drop off/pick up area behind 545 N. Milwaukee Ave., but it is not exclusive to the operator, Start Parking Co. The village board and staff will review the service and parking locations after six months. Trustee Rich Moras said the service will enable the restaurants to capture more corporate dining business.
