White Sox scouting report

White Sox vs. Minnesota Twins at Target Field

TV: Comcast SportsNet Monday and Tuesday; Channel 9 Wednesday

Radio: WSCR 670-AM

Pitching matchups: The White Sox’ Jake Peavy (6-3) vs. Francisco Liriano (1-7) Monday at 7:05 p.m.; Gavin Floyd (5-7) vs. Liam Hendriks (0-4) Tuesday at 7:05 p.m.; Chris Sale (8-2) vs. Nick Blackburn (4-4) Wednesday at 12:10 p.m.

At a glance: This is the White Sox’ first trip of the season to Minnesota. They won two of three home games from the Twins in late May. Heading into Sunday, Minnesota had the American League’s highest ERA (5.05); the Sox were seventh at 3.97. The White Sox should be able to score some runs vs. Liriano (5.74 ERA), Hendriks (7.39) and Blackburn (7.45). Peavy deserves some offensive support. He is 0-2 over his last four starts despite allowing 6 earned runs in 28 innings. Peavy has won both career starts at Target Field and hasn’t allowed a run in 14 innings.

Next: New York Yankees, Thursday-Sunday at Yankee Stadium
