Musical theater workshops offered in Libertyville

Dancenter North is offering two special musical theater workshops this July: “Let’s Make a Musical” for ages 7-12, and “How to Audition for a Musical” for grades 8-12. Both workshops will be held at Dancenter North, located at 540 North Milwaukee Ave. in downtown Libertyville.

“Let’s Make a Musical” is a special three-week workshop that meets Mondays and Wednesdays from 3 to 5:30 p.m., and will culminate in a special performance of “Wicked.” The workshop will run from July 9-25 and is $180. The performance for family and friends will be held on Thursday, July 26.

“How to Audition for a Musical” is for students who wish to prepare for school musical auditions. This two-day workshop will concentrate on vocal preparation and song selection. “How to Audition for a Musical” will be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, July 16 and Wednesday, July 18. The cost is $50.
