Camping World set to mark 100th store opening

Lincolnshire-based Camping World, the nation’s largest RV and outdoor retailer, said it’s set to reach a new milestone with the opening of its 100th RV superstore in the next several months.

“More than 46 years ago, Camping World opened its very first storefront location in Bowling Green, KY, and to announce today’s milestone of projections to open our 100th store testifies to the continued, power of our brand, strength of the team and the loyalty of customers; which are all leading forces behind the growth of our business,” said Marcus Lemonis, chairman and CEO of Camping World and Good Sam.

The 100th store opening is indicative of Camping World’s growth strategy, in which the retailer continues to successfully grow the business and define itself as the clear leader in the RV and outdoor industry based on aggregate revenue, growth and market share.

Camping World, along with its sister company Good Sam, currently employs approximately 5,000 associates and is the largest workforce in the outdoor and RV industries operating locations in 33 states.

“As cliché as this sounds, I feel 100 percent confident to say that outside of our strong and loyal customer base, we’ve been blessed with the best associates in the industry, and they are the reason for our level of success,” said Lemonis.

The Good Sam Club is the world’s largest organization of recreational vehicle owners and with growth approaching 1.5 million members nationwide, the company feels the need to have a vast network of RV dealerships and retail stores to serve the RV community’s needs is essential.
