Wis. DA: Ill. man tried to steal woman’s passwords

MILWAUKEE — A former Marquette University computer technician is accused of trying to steal a dorm director’s Facebook password so he could log into her account and make inflammatory posts.

Prosecutors say 21-year-old Christopher M. Cichon of Morris, Ill., was angry because the woman confiscated his toaster in compliance with dorm rules.

A criminal complaint says Cichon secretly installed a program on her computer that keeps a record of anything that is typed. The complaint says he told investigators he wanted her passwords so he could post things to get back at her.

A pre-trial conference is set for June 29.

Defense attorney Julius Kim says Cichon knows he messed up. Kim says there have been ongoing conversations with prosecutors and he expects the case to be resolved short of trial.
