Reinhart to sing on ‘Windy City Live,’ ‘The View’

Wheeling native and “American Idol” finalist Haley Reinhart will be making several TV appearances this summer leading up to her performance at Lollapalooza in August.

Reinhart, who came in third place on the 2011 season of “American Idol,” will perform with her father, fellow musician Harry Reinhart, on ABC 7’s morning show “Windy City Live” on Friday, June 22, her mom, Patti said. “Windy City Live” airs at 9 a.m.

She also will appear on “The View” Friday, July 6. “The View” airs at 10 a.m., also on ABC 7.

Reinhart is set to perform her debut single “Free” on both shows.

Later that weekend Reinhart will play in the 2012 Taco Bell All-Star Legends & Celebrity Softball Game, which will be televised on ESPN at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Monday, July 9, immediately following the State Farm Home Run Derby. Reinhart used to roam the outfield while playing softball at Wheeling High School.

Other players will include John Hamm of “Mad Men,” Chord Overstreet from “Glee,” and fellow “American Idol” alumnus David Cook.

Reinhart and her band will perform at Lollapalooza, the three-day musical festival in Chicago on Friday, Aug. 3. She’ll be appearing from 1:10 to 1:50 p.m. on the BMI Stage in Grant Park.

She is the first “American Idol” alum to book the music fest, which generally doesn’t showcase pop singers. Other headliners include Black Sabbath and the Black Keys.

The 21-year-old singer described her first album, “Listen Up!” which hit stores in May, as a “funky, soul-infused R&B record.” Her father plays guitar on four tracks.
