Honor for Antioch

For the sixth consecutive year, the village of Antioch’s finance director, Joy McCarthy, has received a certificate of achievement in financial reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada. The certificate is for her comprehensive annual financial report from fiscal year 2011. It is the highest form of recognition in the area of government and financial reporting, according to a news release. “It feels like we do this routinely,” Mayor Lawrence Hanson said. “Obviously we have one of the sharpest, finest finance directors in the county.” McCarthy was presented with the award at Monday night’s village meeting. McCarthy has been Antioch’s finance director for the past seven years.
