FREE Emergency Preparedness Training Classes begin July 13
Do you know the correct way to put out a small fire? Check an individual for shock? Turn off the utilities in your home in an emergency? This course, provided free by the Village of Palatine, will teach you how to prepare for any emergency, and protect yourself and your family should one occur.
The special “boot camp” session will be held in five sessions instead of the usual ten. All classes will be held in the Emergency Operations Center at Village Hall, 200 E. Wood Street in Palatine, except for Fire Safety which is held at Palatine Fire Station #84, 22 W. Illinois St.
Friday, 7/13 (6pm-10 pm) Preparedness/Psychology of Terrorism
Saturday, 7/14 (8am-4 pm) Organization/ Medical Ops.Pt 1/ Search & Rescue
Friday, 7/20 (6pm-10pm) Fire Safety/Terrorism (Fire Dept Station #84)
Saturday, 7/21 (8am-4pm) Light Med. Operation (Pt 2)/Review/Exercise
A final Orientation class at 7:00 PM on Tuesday 7/24 will be offered to those who wish to take the optional advanced training which will qualify them to become an active part of the Village of Palatine's response capability.
