Lombard Fire Department Responds To House Fire, No Injuries Reported
Upon arrival at the scene at approximately 4:55 p.m., a fully involved two-story duplex residence fire was discovered. The Lombard Fire Department attacked the fire, assisted by Lisle-Woodridge Fire Protection District, Oak Brook Fire Department, Oakbrook Terrace Fire Protection District, York Center Fire Protection District, Elmhurst Fire Department, Wheaton Fire Department and the Glen Ellyn Police Department.
Estimated damage to the structure and its contents is $275,000-$300,000. According to Fire Lieutenant Art Peters, head of Lombard's Fire Investigation Unit, the cause of the fire is under investigation.
Battalion Chief Paul DiRienzo explained that although the house fire occurred at a Glen Ellyn address, the location is included in Lombard's fire protection district.
