Swedish Days

Geneva Chamber of Commerce’s Swedish Days will run Tuesday, June 19, through Sunday, June 24, in downtown Geneva. The 63rd annual Midsommar festival will feature a variety of musical entertainment. Visit genevachamber.com for festival maps.

TUESDAY, JUNE 19

1 to 3 p.m.: Concerts on the Lawn, Courthouse Lawn, South 3rd Street. Ellus Bellus featuring Eian O’Brien’s melodic and heartfelt lyrics, Stephen Froula’s complementing drumming and the rhythmic guitar of Brennan Walls, three longtime high school friends.

7:30 p.m.: Mike & Joe, Central Stage, South 3rd at Courthouse. Featuring Alternative and modern rock music from the 1990s through today.

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 20

1 to 3 p.m.: Dennis O’Brien, Courthouse Lawn. A vocalist and acoustic guitar player, well-versed in multiple musical genres that include rock, Blues and folk.

5:30 p.m.: Swedish American Children’s Choir, in front of Central Stage.

6:30 p.m.: Geneva’s Got Talent Semifinals, Central Stage. Individuals competing for a chance to perform at the Saturday finals and win a $1,000 cash prize. Vote for your favorite on Facebook. Search for Geneva, Ill., and look for the Facebook page with the Swedish Days logo.

8 p.m.: ABBA Salute, Central Stage. The tribute band, with painstaking attention to detail, recreate an ABBA experience.

THURSDAY, JUNE 21

1 to 3 p.m.: Swings n’ Arrows, Courthouse Lawn. Swing through time listening to classic jazz by Swings n’ Arrows, a jazz sextet led by trumpeter John Lash. Get hip to the sweet sounds of 1940s swing, 1950s bop, and 1960s cool jazz.

6:30 p.m.: Battle of the Bands Winner, Central Stage. Performance by the first place winner of the Geneva Park District Battle of the Bands held Monday, June 18.

7:30 p.m.: The Moods, Central Stage. The Moods are a singing group consisting of four guys dedicated to the fine art of harmony and choreography. Performing Motown, blues, pop, jazz, doo-wop and rock n’ roll.

FRIDAY, JUNE 22

4 p.m.: Radio Disney, Central Stage. Radio Disney AM 1300 host a concert with Bartlett native Shealeigh, Radio Disney’s season four N.B.T. (Next Big Thing) winner. The Radio Disney AM 1300 Road Crew will provide interactive entertainment and prizes from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Shealeigh will take the stage at 5:30 p.m. followed by a public meet-and-greet session with fans.

8 p.m. 7th Heaven, Central Stage. Featuring renditions of Def Leppard, The Beatles, Bon Jovi, Journey and U2.

SATURDAY, JUNE 23

1 to 3 p.m.: “The Wandering Endorphin,” Courthouse Lawn. Musical alter ego of American singer/songwriter Jim Green. Not bound by the usual sonic possibilities of the acoustic guitar, Green creates enchanting soundscapes to percussively fingerstyle songs.

5:30 p.m.: DancEncounter, in front of Center Stage. Geneva’s longest serving dance studio for almost two decades presenting a selection of “When I Grow Up” in celebration of 10 years of ownership by director Tracy Adams.

6:30 p.m.: Geneva’s Got Talent Finals, Central Stage. Finalists chosen from Wednesday night’s competition will compete for first place and a $1,000 cash prize.

8 p.m.: Hi Infidelity, Central Stage. Featuring great vocals and harmonies and wide variety of songs, ranging from 1980s rock to the best new music.
