Ex-operator of Naperville day care sentenced in prostitution case

The former operator of a Naperville day care found guilty of prostitution was sentenced Friday.

Amy Thoren of Naperville was placed on a year of conditional discharge Friday at the DuPage County Circuit Court, said Paul Darrah, spokesman for State's Attorney Robert Berlin.

A jury found Thoren guilty of a misdemeanor charge of prostitution.

“It's important to note the conviction does stand against her,” Darrah said.

Thoren ran ABC and TLC Home Daycare in Naperville until her arrest with two other women in June 2010.

Naperville police said in 2010 that the women arranged meetings with clients over the Internet and met them at hotels and motels on Naperville's north side.

In 2010, a spokesman for the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services said the department was investigating Thoren.
