Standup comic hosts radio show on Elk Grove's WIND-AM
Did you hear the one about the car dealer? Then you must meet George DeMartino, a stand-up comic with 20 years of automobile dealer experience who combined his car knowledge and comic edge to host “Wheeling and Dealing.” Wheeling and Dealing is an hour-long syndicated show produced by Treasure and Space Coast Radio in Vero Beach, Florida.
DeMartino is in Chicago to kick off the airing of his show on Chicago's AM 560 WIND radio. Wheeling and Dealing will be heard on WIND-AM on Sundays from 10:00-11:00 AM (CST).
A stand-up comedian, actor and writer who has opened for acts including Louis Black, Kevin James and the Temptations, brings the humor and punch lines he uses at comedy clubs and private parties to the airwaves.
Wheeling & Dealing is a show that takes the consumer backstage in the automobile business, letting them know the real truth behind the deal and how to avoid the pitfalls. George educates the consumer on how to negotiate the best deal and how to handle themselves inside the glass jungle of the new car showroom. George also prepares the consumer on how to be knowledgeable about the car they are purchasing and the value of their trade which is imperative when making a good deal.
Everyone has a personal story and experience that was unforgettable. This show helps the consumer get the best deal by giving them the tools they need to negotiate.
Listeners can call in with questions regarding any issues involved in purchasing or selling a car. George gives callers the information and confidence to make the deal of a lifetime. Many times George handles the negotiating process by calling the dealer while the consumer is on the line, helping to secure a good deal for both parties involved.
Car dealers do indeed have a “mystique” and a stereotype that can be intimidating to the average car buyer. George evens the playing field and gives the consumer the ammo needed to swing the pendulum and take control of their deal!
"I'd like to think I'm bringing back the fun in buying a car," DeMartino said. "I try to make it colorful so the show is both informative and fun. Car buying doesn't have to be intimidating for people. I haven't met one car dealer here who isn't willing to bend over backwards to work a deal and keep the customer from walking away.”
