'Impact 100' grant winners will be announced June 12

Impact 100 Chicago, a philanthropic women's organization, has announced four finalists for the $100,000 grant which will be awarded June 12 at the second annual Grant Award Celebration at Arlington Park racecourse in Arlington Heights.

The finalists in four focus areas and their proposed projects are:

Ÿ Arts and Culture — Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra, to create a steel drum ensemble

Ÿ Education — Hyde Park Neighborhood Club, for a facility renovation.

Ÿ Family — A Safe Place, to provide services for child witnesses

Ÿ Health and Wellness — Family Health Partnership Clinic, an electronic medical records system.

This year's membership consists of 142 women who have each made a tax-deductible donation of $1,000. The funds are pooled to create a $100,000 grant and three $14,000 finalist grants. The four finalist organizations will present their appeal to the entire membership at the Grant Award Celebration on June 12 and each member votes to decide the awarding of the grants. The grants are awarded at the end of the gala evening.
