Japan Fest begins today in Arlington Heights

The 30th annual Japan Festival will take place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, June 9, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, June 10, at the Forest View Educational Center, 2121 S. Goebbert, Arlington Heights. The festival features Obon dance, Omikoshi parade, cosplay fashion show, Ho Etsu Taiko Japanese drum ensemble, and performances of Japanese classical dance, taiko, folk dances, martial arts, and Japanese music. Children will be able to participate in traditional Japanese games and gift shop. Visitors also will enjoy Japanese cuisine. Admission and parking are free.
