Cubs vs. Minnesota Twins at Target Field

Pitching matchups: The Cubs' Travis Wood (0-2) vs. P.J. Walters (2-1) Friday at 7:10 p.m.; Jeff Samardzija (5-3) vs. Scott Diamond (4-1) Saturday at 1:10 p.m.; Ryan Dempster (1-3) vs. Francisco Liriano (1-6) Sunday at 1:10 p.m.

At a glance: This is the Cubs' first visit to Target Field. They played the Twins at the Metrodome in 2006 and at Wrigley Field in 2009. It also kicks off a stretch of 12 straight interleague games. The Twins (22-34) are last in the American League Central. Minnesota ranks last in the AL in ERA (5.02). Joe Mauer leads the Twins in batting (.298) while Josh Willingham leads in most of the other key offensive categories. The Cubs entered Thursday's finale at Milwaukee 14th in the National League in runs scored. David DeJesus is 2-for-12 lifetime vs. Liriano.
