Former Chicago man on FBI’s most wanted list

A former Chicago man sought for sexual assaults and murder is now on the FBI’s “Ten Most Wanted Fugitives” list.

The FBI in Chicago announced the addition of 37-year-old Fidel Urbina on Tuesday. A manhunt has been on for Urbina since 1999. He is charged in Chicago federal court with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution. Authorities say he murdered and sexually assaulted one woman and beat and sexually assaulted another woman.

A Mexican federal magistrate issued a provisional arrest warrant for Urbina in 2006. The FBI says he remains at large and they don’t know his whereabouts. FBI officials say Urbina is a threat. His case has been on television shows like “America’s Most Wanted” and “Chicago Most Wanted.”

Urbina is the 497th person to be added to the list.
