Chicago man guilty of sending lewd emails to Naperville woman
A man who anonymously emailed a photo of his genitals to a Naperville woman pleaded guilty Wednesday to misdemeanor harassment.
Daniel Tamburich, 33, was sentenced to time served in the DuPage County jail, two years of sex offender probation and GPS monitoring.
The victim received several lewd emails from an unknown sender in December 2010. Police obtained subpoenas and search warrants to identify Tamburich, who sent the messages from his work and home computers, Prosecutor Kirsten King said.
In one message, she said, Tamburich sent a photo collage including images of his genitals and the victim’s face, writing, “Girl, I so horny.”
During a police interview, he “admitted sending the emails ... and said he regretted it,” King told Judge Robert Kleeman, who imposed the sentence.
At an earlier hearing, King said the victim knew Tamburich in high school and had reported he made unwanted advances to her at a Chicago nightclub several years ago.
Tamburich declined to make a statement in court Wednesday.
As a result of his plea, felony charges of cyberstalking and harassment were dropped. The defense said Tamburich plans to move to Arizona if his probation can be transferred.
