Save-A-Pet strives for a ‘No-Kill’ nation on June 11

What is a day? There are so many ways to answer that question.

In 24 hours, people spend time with family and friends. A day can be something we look forward to, a celebration of some kind.

According to www.justoneday.ws, in animal shelters in the United States, one single day represents 10,411 lives lost due to the lack of coordination among communities as a whole to help get more homeless animals adopted.

To most people, June 11 will pass unmarked by any notable significance. In the animal welfare community, June 11 is a day that could change the lives of thousands of animals.

For just one day, America can be a “No-Kill” nation. Hundreds of animal shelters across the USA have taken a pledge not to kill any savable animals Monday, June 11.

Because Save-A-Pet Adoption Center is already a no-kill rescue, it is their hope to save as many animals as possible June 11. To help this cause, consider adopting or fostering a cat or dog from Save-A-Pet in the next week. All of Save-A-Pet’s available residents can be viewed at www.saveapetil.org.

If you are interested in fostering, email foster@saveapetil.org for more information.

If you are unable to adopt or foster, consider making a donation to Save-A-Pet’s Rescue Fund, which designates all gifts to pay for the costs of intake.
