Arlington Hts. summer concerts start June 7
Bring your lawn chairs and blankets as the 2012 Sounds of Summer concert series kicks off Thursday, June 7. Concerts are from 7-8:30 p.m. most Thursdays and Fridays, June 7 to Aug. 9, in Harmony Park, Campbell and Vail, downtown Arlington Heights.
Thursday, June 7: St. Viator High School Jazz Band.
Friday, June 8: Gone 2 Paradise (sounds of Jimmy Buffett).
Thursday, June 14: Missed Opportunity (modern and classic rock).
Friday, June 15: 25 or 6 to 4 (sounds of Chicago).
Thursday, June 21: Small Potatoes (acoustic, blues and folk).
Friday, June 22: Big Fun (Sinatra, Motown, rock and contemporary rock).
Thursday, June 28: Illinois Brass Band.
Friday, June 29: BritBeat (sounds of the Beatles).
Thursday, July 12: Reunion Jazz Orchestra.
Friday, July 13: Special Consensus (bluegrass).
Thursday, July 19: Arlington Heights Community Band.
Friday, July 20: Arranmore (Irish, Americana and folk).
Thursday, July 26: Prairie Brass Band.
Thursday, Aug. 2: Jon Rogers presents Jack Salamander (classic and alternative rock).
Friday, Aug. 3: Trippin Billies (sounds of the Dave Matthews Band).
Thursday, Aug. 9: Skip Towne & The Greyhounds (blues, jazz, swing and ballads).
No concerts will be held July 5-6 during Frontier Days or July 27 during Irish Fest.
People’s Bank of Arlington Heights has signed on to be the main sponsor of Sounds of Summer through the 2014 series, a significant boost in funding.
