Toddler hospitalized after 2nd-story window fall
ELKHART, Ind. — Police say a 3-year-old girl was hospitalized with head injuries after falling from a second-story window at a northern Indiana home.
Emergency workers were called to the Elkhart home Monday evening. The Elkhart Truth reports that police say the girl suffered a skull fracture and a broken collarbone, but her injuries didn’t appear to be life-threatening.
Neighbor Shaneka Ballard tells WNDU-TV that the girl’s parents said they had opened the window to help air out the house and that it didn’t have a screen in place.
