Two injured in Barrington Hills crash
Two people were injured in a crash on Route 62 in Barrington Hills Monday afternoon, according to police.
Emergency crews were forced to cut a driver from one of three vehicles involved the crash, which shut down a stretch of the roadway for more than an hour, according to Barrington Hills police Lt. Joe Colditz.
Police said a vehicle crossed the centerline while traveling on Route 62 just west of Springwood Lane and struck a vehicle headed the other direction.
The woman who was cut from one of the vehicle suffered serious but nonlife-threatening injuries and was taken to St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates, said Barrington Assistant Fire Chief Greg Keegan.
The driver of the second vehicle involved in the crash also was taken to St. Alexius Medical Center with nonlife-threatening injuries.
A third vehicle veered off the roadway and neither the driver nor any of the passengers in the vehicle were injured, Keegan said.
Police and fire crews were dispatched to the scene at 2:33 p.m. and shut down Route 62 between Old Sutton Road and Bateman Road until about 4 p.m., Colditz said.
