Eco-friendly lawn tips

How to go green and still maintain a green lawn is the topic of a free program of the Lake-to-Prairie Wild Ones at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday, June 5 at the Fremont Public Library 1170 N. Midlothian Road, Mundelein. Sarah Surroz, conservation and outreach manager for Conserve Lake County, will present a variety of approaches, from full-fledged natural lawn care to installation of low-mow grass. The talk will provide information on how to move from conventional lawn care to more ecologically friendly approaches. Wild Ones is a national nonprofit that promotes the use of native plants in landscapes.
