Anderson Animal Shelter offers Critter Camp 2012 for kids
Enrollment is now taking place for Critter Camp 2012, a one-week day camp program for animal-loving kids at Anderson Animal Shelter, 1000 S. La Fox St. in South Elgin.
Session I, for children, age 9-12, will be held July 9-13. Session II, for children ages 6-8, will be held July 16-20. Session III, for children ages 9-12, will be held July 23-27. All three sessions occur from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day.
Campers will spend the week engaged in arts and crafts, games, and activities with an animal welfare theme. There will be plenty of hands-on time with shelter animals as well. This summer camp is an opportunity for children to learn more about the importance of vital animal issues such as proper pet care, spaying and neutering to help with the overpopulation problem, and animal safety while in a fun and engaging environment.
The cost for the weeklong camp is $160 which includes all camp supplies, activities, and end-of-the-week party and prizes. Campers need to bring a sack lunch each day that does not need to be refrigerated.
