TOWN OF TAYCHEEDAH, Wis. — Investigators in eastern Wisconsin are trying to find out why a car crossed into the path of a dozen motorcycles, killing one person and injuring nine others.

Fond du Lac County sheriff’s officials say the crash happened on Highway 151 in the Town of Taycheedah (tay-CHEE’-dah) Thursday afternoon. Sheriff’s Capt. Dean Will tells WLUK-TV the dozen motorcyclists were on an extended ride and headed back home to Michigan.

Will says the car crossed over the center line and hit ten of the motorcycles. One of the motorcyclists died. Three of the nine bikers hurt were critically injured and airlifted to a Neenah hospital. The rest were taken by ambulance to a local hospital.

The sheriff’s department and Wisconsin State Patrol are investigating.
