Paramount unveils full season of shows

With talent ranging from Alison Krauss to William Shatner, the Paramount Theatre in Aurora has announced its full lineup of concerts and shows for its 2012-13 season.

The theater's 81st season launches on Friday, Aug. 24, with a Season Kick-Off Bash that precedes the return of the Happy Together Tour, which features famed 1960s music makers like The Buckinghams, The Grass Roots and Mickey Dolenz of The Monkees.

Other highlights through the season include Alison Krauss & Union Station featuring Jerry Douglas (Aug. 26), comedian Rodney Carrington (Sept. 8), The Indigo Girls (Nov. 3), the previously announced William Shatner one-man show “SHATNER'S WORLD: We Just Live In It ...” (Jan. 4) and 1960s rockers The Ides of March and Herman's Hermits with Peter Noone (May 18), among other shows and several programs for kids.

These performances are scheduled in addition to the Paramount's second self-produced Broadway Series, which includes “Grease!” (Sept. 12-Oct. 7), “Annie” (Nov. 21-Dec. 30), “The Music Man” (Jan. 16-Feb. 3) and “Fiddler on the Roof” (March 6-24).
