The Suburbs This Weekend: Birds, butterflies and zero-carb pizza crust
Birds, butterflies and a zero-carb pizza crust are among the recommendations from Sean Stangland and Richard Battin for The Suburbs This Weekend.
High on Sean's list is a restaurant named Eshticken, known for ita zero-carb pizza crust. The secret? Really, really thin chicken. Give it a try. Eshticken is at 4660 Hoffman Blvd., Hoffman Estates; (847) 747-0000.
Sean also recommends the new Oak Brook location of Seasons 52 with a menu that features items containing 475 or fewer calories. Customer favorites include steak and cremini mushroom flatbread, cedar plank salmon, caramelized sea scallops and Maui tuna crunch salad.
Seasons 52 at Oak Brook is at 3 Oakbrook Center, Oak Brook. (630) 571-4752.
Richard recommends the Butterfly garden at The Chicago Botanic Garden which promises plenty of Butterflies & Blooms in a new outdoor garden specially designed to attract tropical butterfly species from around the world.
Butterflies & Blooms launches Saturday at 1000 Lake-Cook Road, Glencoe. Garden admission: $8; $6 kids ages 3-12, in addition to $20 parking per car. (847) 835-5440 or chicagobotanic.org. 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Saturday, June 2, to Monday, Sept. 3.
