Palatine reduces speed limit on Colfax Street

The Palatine village council recently approved reducing the speed limit on Colfax Street, which runs through the village’s downtown.

The speed limit will be 30 mph between Northwest Highway and Smith Street, and 35 mph between Smith Street and Quentin Road. Previous speed limits varied between 35 mph and 40 mph, and were set when Colfax was an unmarked state highway.
