Lombard company honored:

Desert Rose Design, a marketing and Web development agency in Lombard, was named for the fourth year in a row to DiversityBusiness.com’s annual listing of the nation’s top 500 diverse-owned businesses. Desert Rose Design is a woman-owned business certified by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council. The Div500 awards are given to companies ranging in revenue size to challenge the notion that businesses owned by minorities or women are small and insignificant.

Basketball tourney in Lisle:

The Bulls/Sox Academy will host a Chicago Bulls Summer Basketball Tournament from June 27 through 30 at the academy, 6200 River Bend Drive, Lisle. The Chicago Bulls Basketball Tournaments are a premier showcase for boys and girls travel basketball teams. The tournament format is professionally organized for teams at all levels and includes a five-game guarantee, three maple courts, IHSA officials and scorekeepers as well as awards for teams and individuals. Tournaments are for fourth- through 12th-grade boys and fifth- through 12th-grade girls. The cost is $525 per team for entry into tournament. Carillon recital season opens:

Naperville assistant carillonneur Christine Power will open the 2012 Carillon Recital Series at 7 p.m. June 5 at the Millennium Carillon in Moser Tower at 210 Aurora Ave. at the base of Rotary Hill in Naperville. This year’s schedule includes performers from the Netherlands, Poland, Canada and from U.S. locations such as Madison, Connecticut; Provo, Utah; Washington, D.C.; and Lawrence, Kansas.
