Backyard makover Week 4: Unfinished backyard

If you would have told me last year I would be a homeowner, I would have laughed. I am a single mother of two girls and am very proud of my accomplishment. Unfortunately, with owning a home comes unexpected costs. My family enjoys being outside and entertaining. We started the process of trimming bushes, removing overgrowth, but I am interested in completing a yard to reflect the entertaining I would love to do with a relaxing area that I can sit and unwind after a long week. Being a single mother, I will have to complete in bits and pieces as I do not have the funds to complete. As you can see from the picture, there is no fence and the vacant house directly in back of us is a total eyesore. I have an unfinished area that I just filled with woodchips. Please consider creating an area for my girls to play and for me to relax. Thanks for your consideration!
