Taxation should end when income ceases
Oppressive laws and financial levies that prevent heads of households from providing for themselves are responsible for most of the difficulties of today. The sole purpose for the existence of government is the preservation of family life, guarding the liberty and freedom of the individual, protecting the right to inherit and own property free from confiscatory laws that harass and worry people.
The Preamble to our Constitution is clear. “We, the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.”
Fundamental to righteous government is the establishment of justice. Are we just when we fine the prosperous, penalize the industrious and reward the shiftless with a system of taxation? Without property rights, there can be no domestic tranquility. Every family should have their homestead, personal property and possessions free from all taxation. Taxes should only be paid from a person’s earnings. On the very day their income ceases, they should cease to pay taxes so they can then enjoy the remaining years of their life.
Unfortunately, life for multitudes of the aged does not end on a high note. Government should not be assuming parental obligations which should be left with the home. At death a person’s possessions should pass as an inheritance to the family, unimpaired by governmental seizure through inheritance taxes.
A benevolent government with bureaucratic control, through regimentation, institutes a system of mass slavery which removes our liberty and is a blow to all our freedom. Government should exist to protect the family, not the family to support the government.
