Obama, Emanuel are all talk
Mr. Obama has railed on for months about the inequities in our society and he termed this the 99 percent versus the 1 percent. Once again this man that ran on a platform of transparency is talking out of both sides of his mouth.
A recent piece in the Daily Herald or USA Today stated that Obama is worth somewhere in the neighborhood of $30 million dollars. Hardly qualifying him for the 99 percent that he claims are being short changed.
Additionally, he recently attended a fundraiser in California with his Hollywood supporters that cost $40,000 per plate. He flew to this event, as he always does, on Air Force One. A specially equipped Boeing 747 that is available him but should he be spending the money of the 99 percent for his own personal gain? Is this the action of a 99 percenter or is it one of pure arrogance that is the trademark Mr. Obama?
Another matter is the NATO meeting being held in Chicago. First of all, these meetings are nothing more than a boondoggle for the attendees from NATO countries and are a waste of time and money. This particular meeting is being touted as a “coming out” of sorts for the new Chicago to showcase the city’s growth since the 1968 Democratic convention.
My take is that Obama and Rahm planned this as a campaign boost for both of them. The mayor has touted the estimated $128 million boost to the Chicago economy, but what he hasn’t told us is what the city will spend for security, the loss of production due to street closures, rail disruptions, and damage from the protesters.
I must add that once again the media has not bothered to call out either of these men. It is indeed unfortunate that coverage cannot be fair.
