Grayslake North captures first-round win
Grayslake North’s boys lacrosse team opened the B state playoffs with a 20-12 win over Marmion Academy on Thursday.
The Knights were led by Matt Schlagetter and AJ Fish with 5 goals and 1 assist each. Joey Amsler and Farhan Khan each added 3 goals, while Jack Mattea netted 2 goals and 2 assists. Eric Palade and sophomore Alex Fletcher rounded out the scoring for the Knights with a goal apiece.
Grayslake North coach Brad Fish said University of Wyoming-bound senior captain Sam Kellet was “all over the field” for Marmion Academy, keeping his team in the game with 4 goals on a day he set the school record for goals.
Next up for the Knights will be Naperville Central at home next Tuesday at 6 p.m.
