Revenue generators or corporate greed?

I read with great confusion the May 18 letter “Don’t destroy the revenue generators.” It would appear the author has just crawled out from beneath a rock. I assume he is also addressing the Commie Leftist of the early 1900s, too. These folks, our forefathers, fought and many died trying to protect workers’ rights from corporate greed, even back then.

Case in point: Sweat Shops — bring us your old, young, sick, uneducated immigrants so we can have them toil 14 hours a day for seven days a week for all of maybe a nickel a day. Call in sick, you’re fired; late, you’re fired; have to leave early, you’re fired, Yes, those cooperate upper managers really knew how to get those poor souls to work.

And, of course, even then those CEOs really should have been taking credit for the talent they had brought with them to their companies.

Really? Today’s corporations have stolen from workers’ pensions, mismanaged funds, hidden expenditures, given themselves 100 percent bonuses and on and on. Not to mention fueling the housing collapse/banking fiasco. At some point, corporate mongers will have to take a step back and realize their personal greed is killing our nation, and without the workers, they would be nothing. CEOs should guide the corporate ship while workers man the required duty stations, both working hand-in-hand for the same goal.

I also adamantly have disgust for any CEO or corporation that awards themselves huge bonuses in times like these while reducing the number of workers. Such tactics are going to lead to a complete collapse of our society, if we do not take measures to stop it. Democrats and Republicans alike are responsible for turning a blind eye to such devious dirty tricks.
