Wisconsin man accused of political threats released

MADISON, Wis. — A man accused of threatening to blow up the state Democratic Party office in Madison has been released from custody.

Sixty-year-old William Diederich has been ordered to have no contact with the Democratic Party or any organization supporting the recall of Gov. Scott Walker. Diederich was arrested last Friday in northern Wisconsin. Authorities say more than 100 calls made to the party offices in Madison were traced to his cellphone.

The State Journal says a federal magistrate Wednesday also ordered Diederich to surrender any concealed carry permit he has. The Madison man was ordered back to court May 31.
