APAC Customer Services Expands in Panama
Bannockburn-based APAC Customer Services, Inc. has opened a new contact center in Panama
The opening included a gala event and ribbon cutting ceremony with several local and national Panama dignitaries.
The new site’s location, on the western side of the Panama Canal, has the distinction of being the “first of its kind” in the region of Panama. The site will complement APAC’s ongoing growth as a leader in the customer care business process outsourcing industry and is expected to grow to approximately 700 employees. As with APAC’s other Panama locations, this center handles multilingual, multinational, customer contacts across all channels, including phone, email, web chat, social media, and text messaging. From the date of opening, the new site immediately began operations providing services for APAC’s premier global clients.
“Panama continues to be a strategic part of our global network and solution strategy for our clients,” said Jim McGrath, president of APAC Customer. “Not only do we have a great legacy in Panama, but the continued commitment from our clients, employees, leadership team, and the Panama community is a positive combination as we continue to invest in the marketplace. It was an honor to be on hand at the opening ceremonies of our new site and witness the enthusiasm and results of this investment.”
APAC has deep roots in Panama through its legacy with Star Contact. Coupled with its existing locations on the eastern part of Canal region, the Panama enterprise exceeds 2,500 associates. APAC serves several Fortune 500 Companies from Panama.
“With this new location, APAC now has the most robust and complete offering of talent and capabilities across Panama,” said Miro Batista, regional Vice President Latin America for APAC Customer Services. “This new expansion into the western side of the canal is appealing for both our clients and associates as we continue to provide the broadest set of assets and BPO capabilities in market.
“Our launch was a success and we are grateful to the many local and national Panama dignitaries, as well as our clients and associates who contributed to this effort,” he added.
