Slam Funk to perform free concert at Grayslake museum
The public is invited to a special free concert at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 25, at the Grayslake Heritage Center and Museum, 164 Hawley Street, Grayslake.
Slam Funk will perform a concert in the museum’s courtyard (rain location will be the museum’s community room). Slam Funk is an extracurricular performing group, made up of students from Grayslake North and Grayslake Central high schools. Their focus is on learning and performing music from the height of Motown Records. They cover hit songs from The Temptations, Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, The Supremes, Smokey Robinson and others. The museum’s exhibitions will be open before and after the concert.
