Barrington’s downtown will glitter with fine art

Free and open to the public, the Barrington Art Festival will feature the work of more than 140 juried artists from around the world in a variety of mediums — ceramics, fiber, glass, jewelry, metal, photography, watercolors and wood.

Young artists shine in the Youth Art Division of the festival, which showcases the work of artists ages 18 and younger. The fest is produced by Amdur Productions, in partnership with the Village of Barrington and the Barrington Cultural Commission.

Besides art, there is live music, food and activities for kids, including an art scavenger hunt.

Hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, May 26-27, in downtown Barrington, centered at Cook and Station streets. Free parking is available throughout the downtown and the fest is accessible by the Union Pacific Northwest Line.
