Barrington man pleads to reduced charges

A 38-year-old Barrington man pleaded guilty to domestic battery Tuesday after Cook County prosecutors reduced the charges against him from felonies to a misdemeanor.
Thomas Abbatemarco was sentenced to 18 months probation and ordered to attend domestic violence counseling exchange for his guilty pleas. Cook County Judge Joel Greenblatt also ordered him to undergo drug and alcohol evaluation, follow any recommendations and stay away from the complaining witness for 18 months.
