Hoffman Estates Police Department to hold Junior Police Academy

The Hoffman Estates Police Department is pleased to announce its third annual Junior Police Academy this

summer.

This free camp for Hoffman Estates boys and girls will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., for five days from Monday, June 18, to Friday, June 22. It will take place at the police station, 411 W. Higgins Road.

Some of the topics covered include evidence collection, mock traffic stops, juvenile law, Internet safety and specialty units within the police department.

Participants should be entering grades 6 through 8, and need to have a recommendation from a teacher, school staff member or clergy member on the application form.
