Man with knife robs Lake Zurich tanning salon

A man armed with a knife robbed a Lake Zurich tanning salon Monday afternoon.

The man entered Ultimate Exposure Tanning, 267 S. Rand Road, at 3:26 p.m. and announced the robbery, police said.

He was armed with a knife with a black handle and serrated blade and was least seen headed north from the business on foot with an undisclosed amount of money, according to police.

The victim called 911 to report the robbery, and officers searched the area but could not locate the man, police said.

The robber was described as a white man, approximately 30 years old, standing about 5-feet 10-inches tall with a medium build, police said. He was wearing a blue long-sleeved sweater and khaki pants and had short brown spiked hair, according to police.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at (874) 719-1695. Individuals with valid information may be eligible for a cash reward, according to police.
