Cougars rally only to fall 7-6
GRAND CHUTE, Wis. — Each team scored twice when down to their final out, but it was the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers who scored last in a 7-6 victory over the Kane County Cougars on Sunday at Fox Cities Stadium.
Clinging to a 5-4 lead with two outs in the ninth, Chad Pierce surrendered a two-out single to Jorge Bonifacio before being lifted in place of Seth Harvey (3-0). Harvey gave up a 2-run homer to Lane Adams to put the Cougars (23-21) in front.
Robinson Yambati (1-1) surrendered 4 runs in the seventh inning to give Wisconsin a 5-2 lead.
Yambati was still pitching in the bottom of the ninth when he issued 3 walks to fill the bases with two outs for Nick Ramirez.
Ramirez singled to right, scoring Brandon Macias and Max Walla to give the Rattlers the walk-off win.
Brooks Pounders started for the Cougars and struck out a season-high eight while working 6 innings. He allowed just a run on 4 hits.
