Trustmark names Farhin CIO, employer medical and support

Lake Forest-based Asma Farhin recently joined Trustmark Companies as Vice President and Chief Information Officer for its employer medical and support areas.

“Asma brings Trustmark strong leadership experience, a health care industry background, and extensive project management, relationship management and planning experience,” said Dan Simpson, Senior Vice President and CIO. “She has strong business process improvement and project delivery expertise to help fulfill Trustmark strategic IT goals.”

Farhin, 39, will be responsible for relationship management, service delivery, and strategic and operational planning.

Most recently, Farhin served as president and co-founder of S&F Software Solutions, a technology start up that builds IT business solutions. Prior to that, she was vice president of IT project management for the American Health Information Management Association. Farhin has also held senior IT leadership positions of increasing responsibility at Motorola, Inc.

She earned an MBA in marketing, business strategy, finance and entrepreneurship from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, a master’s degree in computer science from Western Michigan University and a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering from Mysore University in India. Farhin is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and holds the Digital Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
