Itasca Library Presents “A Taste of the Midwest”

All ages are invited to attend the "Taste of the Midwest" program from 7-8:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 23 at the Itasca Community Library, 500 West Irving Park Road, Itasca.

With airfares skyrocketing higher than a 747, long-distance trips are becoming unaffordable for many families. Attendees will discover great vacation spots in the Midwest, as travelers Susan Miura and Patt Nicholls present 10 drivable vacation destinations in Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana and Illinois. This fun and fanciful slideshow will highlight state parks, amusement parks, museums and breathtaking beaches, as well as resorts, restaurants and more. Discussion of foods will cover regional snacks, such as fudge, fish boils, and goodies made from cherries, berries, apples, and peaches. Audience members will sample some Midwest treats and receive a recipe packet to take home.

To register for this free program, call (630) 773-1699. Walk-ins are also welcome.
