Conenna strikes out 16 in IC win

Jessica Conenna struck out 16 and top seed Immaculate Conception weathered a Westmont upset bid at the Class 2A Timothy Christian regional to win 2-1 in 12 innings Tuesday in Elmhurst. In the bottom of the 12th Megan Sutton legged out an infield hit, moved to third on a throwing error on a Lindsey Montoya hit, and scored on an illegal pitch to end the game. Conenna (20-5) scattered 9 hits for IC (27-7).

Lisle 14, Plano 3:

Kellie Brennan homered, scored 3 runs and drove in 3 runs and Melanie Early (19-2) allowed zero earned runs in four innings for top seed Lisle (27-3) at the Class 2A Plano regional. Abby Tarasewicz went 3-for-3 and scored 2 runs for Lisle (27-3), which won its 17th straight game.

Montini 8, Niles North 6:

Shaylee Lewis went 4-for-5 with 3 RBI and Kayla Cooper was 3-for-3 for Montini (20-11).

Neuqua Valley 16, East Aurora 0:

Madison Bartlett homered and doubled and Kelsey Dominguez had 2 doubles for Neuqua Valley (18-14, 11-7 Upstate Eight Valley).
