Manufacture Apple products in America

If Apple is such a great American company, why is it producing electronic gadgets in China?

Is paying workers at Foxconn slave wages and dodging taxes really the best corporate policy for America? Perhaps they should transfer some of the manufacturing jobs from China back home instead of focusing all their efforts on their bottom line?
